SchwuZ Queer Foundation
We at SchwuZ have been promoting queer art and culture for over 45 years. We support queer projects and artists, help them apply for funding and grants and put on events that stimulate public debate. Independent from our commercial success as an organization, it’s important to us to provide a platform that strengthens the visibility of the LGBTQIA+ community and drives opportunities for development.
This work was made manifest in the year 2021 with the founding of the SchwuZ Queer Foundation. As a not-for-profit charitable foundation (gGmbH), our focus is on the purposeful promotion of art and culture – especially queer cultures, gender identities and on making social inclusion more visible.
The sponsor of the foundation is the SchwuZ e. V. and thus the community. All donations and funds raised go toward promoting the purpose of the foundation. On the one hand we support up-and-coming artists by providing them a stage – while on the other we provide our spaces and team for queer exhibitions, theater performance or live streaming events as just a few examples. These efforts always put the art and the people at its center – not on profitability.
Together we are dedicated to the task of protecting and presenting queer art and culture. Today and in the future, we want to ensure that there is a space and rooms for low-profit projects in our society. The SchwuZ Queer Foundation is the motor to make this happen. Support us with a donation! You can claim the full amount as a write-off for tax purposes. We’re also happy to provide a receipt for the donation as needed. For the community! For art! For culture!
